Wedding update

Ahhh! I am dying to show you our wedding invitations. I've decided not to post anything wedding related (invites, favor idea, the dress (duh), reception ideas) until after the wedding just to leave an element of surprise for our dear guests. I have finally crossed off 'invitations' on our to-do list. {I think} they are beautiful and so very "us". I can't wait for family and friends to get them today (tomorrow, the next day, or in two weeks... Lizziepie!)

Here's a link to our lovely graphic designer who did our invites.

46 days! (but only because Andrew told me this morning... he's the one who keeps track of sweet things like that!)

Pi Day

It's not the prettiest pie I've made, but these days I'm lucky if I have enough time to bake anything.

Hope you had an awesome pi day (3.14). I made a chocolate pie for the kids and then an apple pie for Andrew & his brother who was in town. This is still one of my favorite pi day stories.

Good morning

You know you're a bride when you wake up, on your own, at 4:30am on a Saturday morning to do wedding planning. My goal is to have everything planned and ready by the end of March. The month of April will be for setting up the apartment and relaxing. We'll see how this goes.

I should be getting the invitations next week. I can't wait to see them! I've been working with a graphic designer and will have them printed here in Charlotte. Yippee!

Andrew's roommate is getting married this weekend so we went to the rehearsal dinner last night. He's just so handsome in those bow ties! ;)

I also adore this picture of Margot. My latest nickname for her is Mar Mar Chickadee. They grow up so fast!

Hope you have a great weekend, and are getting more rest than I am!
P.S. Big game tonight. GO DUKE!!!

Lately

Life in pictures...

Wedding dress shopping in Atlanta with Allison! (photos by Al) She needs to go into business. These dress cookies were too cute! Thanks for helping me try on lots of dresses and being there when we found "the one"! :) Actually, for some the dress is a big deal. I like my dress but truth be told, I think I'm much more excited about the invitations.

Valentine's breakfast with the roomies! (photo by Cait)

Back to Atlanta for a weekend with Andrew visiting family & friends!

We met Al & B at Piedmont Park for a lovely afternoon with them and...

TOBY!

We stayed with his sister and her family. What adorable nieces I (will) have!

The next day we went for a walk with Al & B and then had fish tacos at their apartment. Al & I LOVE fish tacos so we recreated the meal we had the week before. Thanks for the yummy food, Al!

One of many pictures together...
Then we came back to Charlotte and Andrew moved some of his stuff into our new apartment! Wahoo!

Still here...

Planning a {small} wedding in 3.5 months is quite stressful and I'm afraid a blog post often falls at the bottom of the to-do list, but for now, I'll list in bullet points some of the favorite moments of late and hopefully post something this week with pictures.

Favorite Moments...

- moving some of Andrew's stuff into the new apartment (I won't move in until May 7th). And trying to figure out which cabinet will hold our dishes and our plates and our everything.

- being called Aunt Carrie by his nieces

- thinking I only have 1 week left until I talk to Mom again (have fun in China!)

- watching the Bachelor in my wedding dress!!!!

- finally coming to a comprimise about things we disagree on (perfect example: my soon-to-be husband thinks his Jolly Roger (pirate flag) would look great above the mantle. His soon-to-be wife thinks this wouldn't look great. At all. Compromise: the flag gets to hide, err, hang in the laundry room... ).

- walks with Andrew

- double dinner date with the Parkers! The boys played Halo while Al & I cooked. While drinking sangria. How it should be.

- My dear roommates as they get to see all of the wedding details unfold and share in my excitement. {thank you!}

- knowing that at the end of the day on May 7th, we'll be married

ROYGBIV

Here's Mar's rainbow cake! It was quite the project, but really fun to make. :) If you look closely you can see her fingerprints from where she licked the icing.

p.s. 3 months from today we'll be getting married!
