Life lately

Went to visit this birthday girl at her middle school!

Then went to see this guy at work! I had never been and it was fun to meet his cube-mates. (Also, in honor of summer he buzzed his hair. I miss the swoosh.)

I've been hanging out with my friend Carrie D. (!) and her cutie who likes my boots which happen to be like 1/3 of her body height.

Summer is when you...

...sit on the porch and watch the storm roll in.

 National donut day.

Blood, sweat, & tears went into that banner... ok not really, but it makes me happy that it can be used for so many birthdays!

Two!

That ridiculous mac & cheese.

Ok, so maybe I spend a lot of time on the porch.

Fairies

Well you can't really see it here, but trust me, there are fairies in our backyard. Actually, it's just airborne fluff flying in the air from a cottonwood tree but I pretend it's fairies flying all around. Last night I was making this crazy good (but not good for you) recipe for a 2 y/o birthday party we have today and I looked out the kitchen window and all I could see was the wind blowing the fluff from the tree. Fairies! Best part of my day. I love a new season at Rozzie.

Throwback Thursday

My mom posted this picture of her and her horse, Cocoa Dixon, this morning on FB. It makes me so happy! I think what I love about it is that my mom has always loved horses. I mean really... it's love. I sometimes wish I had the same affection towards them just because I grew up with a horse... but I definitely don't share the same passion for them as my mom has. I love this about her.

We went to see the broadway show War Horse this past weekend with some friends and while it was a little dark with lots of war scenes which made me want to go home and look at pictures of puppies and rainbows, the most impressive aspect of the play was the horse puppets. No, not hand puppets... life size horse puppets with three puppeteers. Very impressive.

Also, my mama has a new business: Horsin Around Services. Check it out here!

Milk & Cookies Party

Monday I had B&L over for a few hours and I put them to work decorating cows for our milk & cookies party. (because cows give us milk)

Voila!
I also used the string handles from all the Anthropologie bags I have to tie the cows together.

 Milk, of course.

Baby P came... 3 weeks old!

Baby P came as well! 5 days old! This was his first party.

So glad we haven't furnished this room yet. Perfect for all the little ones to run around and play.

I was talking to a few friends about when to have the party. I asked, "what about 7pm?". They were like, "um, kids are in bed by 7. You should have it at 5:30." Earliest party ever...  but I think it was fun for the grown-ups to have dessert before dinner. Plus I was able to give children sugar and send them home. ;) I really do think one child ate 7 cookies.

Summertime

It was a great ending to our year at preschool. I helped a few of the children spell the letters for the invitation and they all wrote their names on the back.

Towards the last part of school, we put out a long roll of white paper that they could draw on. I then used it to wrap their end-of-year gift from us.

One of the gifts from the parents. Be still my heart!

We had a teacher party that night and I made this cake. So yummy.

Now that school is over, let's welcome summer!!

Florida!!

Memorial Day picnic in the 'Hood.

Farmer's Market salad.

A beautiful day in the country.

Riding down Rozzelles Ferry.

Summer is the best. I'm so thankful for this season!
