Weekend Update (cough, achoo)

There really isn't much to update because I've been sick most of the weekend. Whatever I have hit me Saturday morning and I'm on my second box of Kleenex. At least I picked a really pretty design on them. I mean, if you've gotta be sick, might as well have a cute tissue box, right?!

Friday night I did go to Festival in the Park with my good friend Andrew, which was a lot of fun. It was cool to see all of the vendors and experience one of Charlotte's annual traditions.

Well, I should probably get back to the couch. Hope you had a wonderful weekend! :)

(Last) Weekend Update

So you know it's been a crazy & busy week when you're doing a "Weekend Update" for the previous weekend. I went to Boone with the Parkers, (soon-to-be) Neels, and a few other good friends. There's something so wonderful and special about going back to a place where you've lived for a long period of time. I feel this way about Long Island, New York City and Boone. This was the view from our cabin. :)
Al was the Designated Photographer, so check out her blog for more pictures!

Say yes to the dress, and to cake

It was a big weekend at our house: we went with the Bride-to-be to pick out a wedding dress, and we also celebrated her birthday! I can't post pictures of the dress (duh!), but all I'll say is that it's "very Ginna".

It was a relaxing and fun weekend with just the 5 of us. I love my family!

Cars!

On the ride home from school, most days the boys always point out Mustang's and all the other cool makes & models out there. I thought I'd go highbrow on 'em & take them to a real car dealership; to a place where Michael Jordan frequents: Foreign Cars Italia. Now, I'm not usually paying attention to what's on the road, but today, in the presence of expensive & nice cars, I was quite impressed.

I batted my eyes & asked the manager if the boys (& I) could just sit in the cars. He said they normally don't let people get in, but he would this one time. :)

So P and W got to "test drive" a Lamborghini.

And me too! And then a Ferrari. Nice.
Mar was a little mad she wasn't able to come with us. (Actually, she wasn't really mad in this picture, but I still love it...)

So I'll leave you with a little video of Mar reading to me... how adorable!!

Savannah

Labor Day weekend & Memorial Day weekend are two of my favorite summer holidays. I decided to go see Katharoo in Savannah and it was fun catching up and seeing where she lives. She is currently a student at SCAD.

We walked around historical downtown, got ice cream at Leopolds (Mir, have you been?) and went to the best deli in Savannah for the closest thing to Manhattan bagels.

We also got to talk to Liz in Romania (on my blackberry)! What fun!

Nina & Mark get married!

Oh how beautiful was the wedding for Nina & Mark! (sorry for the blurry picture, this is the only one I got of the two of them)
ASU friends!
Me & Al
I really loved Nina's dress.
The funniest part of the night was doing our traditional "feed each other cake" thing.
I got so tickled!
The Parkers
Us with Paula!
The soon-to-be Neel's!

Us with the beautiful Sara!
Breakfast the next morning with waffles & fruit. Perfect.

Everyday life

Just another Friday night in Charlotte with good friends!

Girls like to shop

Oh boy, oh boy. While the boys went shopping for back to school stuff, Mar & I went to the mall! We went to J.Crew to get clothes for fall and Nordstrom to get shoes. I think she looks so adorable here!

Panthers game

A couple weeks ago I went to a Panthers game with my friend Kristy, and her friends Matt & Jason. We tailgated beforehand and then headed in to find our seats. Matt has season tickets, so we got to sit on the 8th row and we had a really great time. It was my first Panthers game and they played the Jets, so I was a little torn (not that I really care!), but ended up pulling for the Jets. :)

Waffles

I had some college friends over one Saturday morning for waffles, bacon, coffee & oj. It was delightful! You would have thought my house turned into Trivette Dining Hall with all the waffles we had. Jenn & Kate's birthdays are both in August, so I made homemade chocolate waffles in addition to regular.

And we had to have a baby picture! Kate & Billy are having a boy in December!

Caldwell reunion!

Looking back, I'm still amazed that we were able to pull off a gathering of this proportion! All of us went to Caldwell Academy and people came from China, Canada, Germany and all over the US. It was wonderful to see some of my dearest friends.

Here we are: Class of 2002 (yes, there were only 7 of us)! This is the first time we've all been together since graduation.

Class of '02 girls!

And we of course had to have the Hamilton Lakes girl picture!

This night was one of my favorites looking back over summer!
